Prevention

 I'm a big fan of preventing problems rather than letting them happen. I'm thinking about that this morning as I think about our family's health and welfare. How can we prevent illness and hardship while promoting good health, positive relationships, and good living overall? What can we do?

Healthy routines

I grew up with many healthy routines that remain healthy practices today including three healthy, mostly natural, well-balanced meals a day, lots of healthy pastimes such as hiking, biking, swimming and more, and plenty of rest. I want to focus on these age-old healthy routines more in the days ahead.

Gardening

The garden is a great source of activity, healthy foods, and lots of natural beauty.

Good relationships

As much as possible I want to nurture good relationships with good people, the kind of people that try to live good lives for themselves and others. 

Warm, welcoming home

The closer I get to this goal, the happier I am. I want the kind of home that readily welcomes others in comfortable, positive ways. For me that means a simple home that's easy to care for and comfortable to for all visitors. A steady routine of home care and updates when needed will support this goal. 

Happy events to look forward to and that celebrate the good times

I want to make sure that we celebrate the good times and plan events that give us something positive to look forward to. 

Acceptance

Even when we do our best, we are sometimes met with troubling situations we can't change. When this happens we have to accept the situation and do our best to turn our attention to more positive activities and endeavors.

Good health

There are so many ways to stay healthy today, and a focus on good health is critical to as good a life as possible.
