First, think about what has worked in the past--what's brought you ahead in the past with respect to that challenging goal. Make a list of those positive steps and embed them into your routine and schedule.
Next, couple your effort with meaningful initiatives--what goals and efforts are meaningful for you. Match those meaningful efforts with the hard work ahead to reach your goal.
After that, chart your progress and ask support from trusted friends or family members. Don't share your effort too widely as when that happens, some may undermine your focus.
