I did not give the Epstein Files much thought until today, and then today, I read through many posts that highlighted one file after another. The files, even though redacted, contain crimes that were unimaginable to me. The crimes are far worse than I imagined, and to think that our Department of Justice is not even making a plan to go after the perpetrators is evidence that our DOJ is complying with the crimes rather than protecting the victims. This is wrong.
As with most crimes, the damage only gets worse when people stay quiet or cover it up. Had the justice departments done their jobs when Epstein's crimes were first reported, this giant scandal of criminal, abusive behavior would never have grown to this grave height.
In many ways it is similar to the child abuse crimes related to the Catholic Church and other institutions. These crimes were covered up and denied for a long time until finally brave individuals chose to do the right thing by speaking up and defending the victims.
I also watched the move, The Starling Girl, today which provides an inside view of the vulnerability that young girls have when it comes to predatory behavior.
It's time to bring to light the entire truth of what happened with Epstein and the many wealthy individuals who joined him in abusing young children and breaking the law in other ways as well. It is time for the victims to be freed from this criminal domination, and time to let the world know that behaviors like this will not be tolerated in society.
I'm pleased that countries around the world are doing their part to bring justice to this situation. It's time that our country does the same. Onward.
