War reminds us that everyday could be our last

I am not a fan of war. In fact, I believe that war should be avoided at all costs. I also believe that diplomacy works. Sadly, right now in the United States, we have a President who thinks he's smarter than everyone else, and that President appears to be quite ignorant when it comes to the facts of almost any matter. He's a man about quick, sloppy fixes--the torn down likely asbestos-spreading East wing of the White House represents that sloppy, quick-fix, ignorant approach to life's problems and potential every day. We can do better, but right now it only seems like things are getting worse with Trump at the helm. It's so discouraging, frightening, dehumanizing, and wasteful. What are people to do?

First, my heart aches for the families of innocent victims who have died or become injured by what seems like an errant strong-man war against Iran. I believe that any leader of the United States needs to put the safety and security of its citizens first, and clearly, this doesn't seem to be the case with regard to this war in Iran.

Next, Congress needs to step up and reclaim their position in United States government. Right now the majority appear to be Trump-lackies alone who do nothing to protect or promote the United States in positive, humane ways. They are mostly old white yes-men who appear to simply do whatever the dehumanizing, lawless, harmful Trump proclaims. This is not how our government is supposed to work, and this is creating chaos, harm, corruption, and death too often.

And, I have to peacefully do my part by supporting candidates who will lead with intelligence, skill, experience, humanity, and as much peace as possible. Onward.
