Every so often I think about life's regrets. I like to think about this as I want to learn from those regrets and when and if appropriate, use those regrets to teach others too.
Prioritize
One regret I have in life is trying to change too many aspects of my professional field at once rather than focus on the areas that were most important. Prioritization is essential in any life or career field.
Collaboration
Another regret I have is not giving collaboration more thought and care. For example, it's impossible to collaborate with everyone in busy work environments, but it's best to team with a few in meaningful, productive ways to achieve all that you hope to achieve. At the end of my career, I had a wonderful collaborative experience which taught me a lot about the advantages that awesome, collaborative teams bring about.
Personal challenges
No one is without personal challenges, and as I got older, I began tackling those challenges in more meaningful, positive ways. Rather than shy away from challenges or deny them, more and more I reach out sooner than later to get the support I need. This has been a positive change and one I hope to embrace even more as time goes on.
