What you can do and what you can't do?

 My husband and I have been updating our house. Since we decided to stay here for the near future, we decided to update in ways that make the house up to date and ready for good living. That meant tackling jobs we never dealt with since we bought the house 34 years ago. As much as possible, we wanted to tackle the jobs on our own. That was successful for some jobs and not so successful for other jobs because some jobs required more skill and knowledge than we had. I lost a few dollars and quite a bit of time trying to fix problems that I didn't have the knowledge or skill to fix. I figured I could learn via videos and experts, but I wasn't successful so I've called experts such as electricians, plumbers, and carpenters to fix those problems. 

It's good to know what you can do and what you can't do, but it's okay to try new jobs a try now and then, however you don't want to put yourself in danger. For example, I didn't try any jobs that required electrical knowledge and skill as I didn't want to get hurt. I was able to make and fix a few items on my own, however, which saved me money and gave me some new skills too. Onward.
