Tiring Trump Times

Trump times are tiring. Certainly he provides daily headlines which keep people talking, but does he do anyone any good. Other than entertaining some on Fox News who may not have much else to do and who enjoy being part of his never-ending self-serving drama, the truth is that he's doing a lot of harm to all of us.

Rolling back environmental supports and protections

The fact that he doesn't seem to be able to see beyond his immediate need for gratification means that he has no idea how important environmental supports and protections are to our survival and good living. He sees no reason for this probably because he's only interested in his privilege and pleasures right now.

Putting people in danger

On January 6th, 2021, Donald Trump sat back and watched his minions terrorize the United States Capitol. Reports tell that Trump and his minions were planning this for a long time, and then when the day came, Trump gave them a resounding command and they marched to The Capitol where they violently assaulted Capitol Police, vandalized our nation's Capitol, terrorized people in The Capitol and surrounding area, and obstructed justice. For hours Trump sat back and did nothing about this--he allowed the violence to continued and abdicated his oath of office to serve and protect the American people. Time and again, Trump has chosen his own lawless self gratification over the safety of the American people and the laws of The Constitution he swore to uphold.

Causing havoc worldwide

Trump's recent analogy where he likened the war in Ukraine to a playground demonstrates his ignorance and complete lack of seriousness or ability to work with world leaders to solve problems that affect us greatly. He doesn't have the intelligence, knowledge, experience, or skill to solve world problems and collaborate with democratic leaders throughout the world--this lack of skill, knowledge, intelligence, and experience creates havoc rather than betterment.

Waste

By ignoring laws, experience, intelligence, skill, history, and potential, Trump wastes lots and lots and lots of money. Our deficit grew tremendously during his first term in office and will grow to be even greater during his second term. He has an insatiable appetite to get what he wants when he wants it to gratify himself, and this narcissistic impulse results in lots of financial and programatic waste. He uses the hard-earned dollars we contribute to the nation as taxpayers as his personal slush fund--it's criminal.

Lawless

Trump skirts the law all the time. One of his favorite tactics is to hire inexperienced, unstable, hateful, ignorant people who will do what he says. He allows those people to do the dirty work while he tries to keep himself away from any legal trouble. Then he jams the courts with endless lawsuits which often result in payouts to him because those he sues don't want the publicity, nuisance, and costly legal battles Trump looks forward to waging.

Hate and Prejudice

Hate is an important aspect of the Trump playbook--he plays on people's hate and prejudices with his media manipulation.

Blame the Vulnerable

Trump plays to the wealthy while blaming the vulnerable. He kowtows to wealthy leaders worldwide with no concern for their ethics or actions while blaming and harming vulnerable people the world over. By shuttering AID operations, he left many children to die, children who counted on that aid for survival. By sending ICE agents to imprison hard working, law abiding immigrants, he is ruining lives--lives of good people who simply came to the USA to look for a better life for themselves and others. The vulnerable people he harms, in many cases, were people who played critical roles in the USA economy. Trump's short term, limited, and seemingly ignorant views about how the world works create long term problems for our country and the world.

The list goes on and on. Trump times are tiring--truly he is a monster not unlike Hitler who caused so much pain and suffering. The egomania of men and women like this serve no one well. Certainly no person is without their imperfections. No leader is perfect, but the tiring daily trauma, death, and destruction caused by the short-sighted, harmful Trump Republican agenda is truly an assault on good people the world over.

Please get out and protest for better leadership on June 14th. Recognize how disgusting it is that Trump would host a $43,000,000 military birthday parade for himself while creating suffering and harm everywhere in his midst. We can do better. We must do better.
