Happy Healthy Holidays

 As soon as the leaves start to fall off the trees, I begin to think about the holidays. Every year I like to update the holiday agenda a bit by adding a few new foods and activities. 

So far, this is what we have planned. 

Halloween

We're hosting a neighborhood pot-luck to celebrate this holiday and a neighbor's significant birthday. We have nice neighbors and it's nice to get together once in a while. 

Thanksgiving

We've invited our family members. Some will be coming. We have an increasing number of vegetarians now so I'd like to incorporate more veggie dishes. The bike trails near our home are greatly improved so I've invited guests to go for a bike ride before dinner if they are interested. We are also planning on our usual day-after-Thanksgiving leftovers and hike. Later that weekend we'll celebrate our son's birthday with the immediate family. We're also meeting up with some old friends during this time. 

Christmas holidays

We're hosting women relatives for a brunch; joining the extended family for a Santa party; spending Christmas Eve with close family members, and spending Christmas Day with other family members. There's a few other celebratory events too. I usually like to add a Christmas show of some kind to the agenda too. I'll see what's available today. 

New Years

We generally have a low key New Years which is okay with me. 

The approaching holidays provide a good impetus for a solid house clean-up. Onward.
