Living in Trump Times

It has been years of Trump harassment and corruption. Truly he and his cronies are an onerous weight on American/world society. There's no doubt that the Trump team is a self-serving, greedy, egotistical, mean, and harmful crew--they don't care about the laws and they don't care about good living for the wonderful diversity of people in the United States and beyond. What can we do about this?

First, we all have to think deeply about what matters to us. To give into corrupt, inhumane practices is to set the stage for further corruption, greed, and harm. We can't give in if we want to retain and develop life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all people in the United States and beyond. Unlike the Trump team, I believe the equation exists for good living for all the world's people. I also believe that we can work together to protect our worldwide natural resources on planet Earth, but we have a lot of work to do.

Minimize your reliance on greedy, self-serving leaders and organizations

Too many of us rely too much on products, actions, and events promoted by organizations and leaders who don't care about our welfare. We have to find new ways to promote living that is not reliant on those that actually harm our rights and welfare. To do this, we have to educate one another about how to do this. We have to try out new products, organizations, and ways of living. For starters, some changes we can make include buying second hand more often than new, establishing backyard gardens, buying from local organizations where we know the people and understand their practices, and getting politically involved in our local communities.

Work to develop a higher quality of living for everyone in your community

There are many practices in United States' culture that are too stressful and less positive. We need to work together to establish more promising practices in the United States. Many of us have profited from the good work of our ancestors, work that put into place good laws and policies to uplift life rather than harm life. I believe that many Americans take that work and those practices for granted. To build a more positive community, we can work to promote greater public transportation, broadband access, quality education, affordable/accessible health care, and healthy food sources. We need to look at ways to support young families so that children get the kind of care and attention they deserve and parents are not overworking and underpaid. We also have to find ways to take care of older individuals and individuals who are unable to care for themselves for all kinds of reasons.

End corruption, greed, and harm

The Trump team has popularized corruption, greed, and harm. We have to lawfully holds those accountable who promote greed, corruption, and harm. We also have to put new laws in place that hold individual's power in check. For example, it's clear that the President of the United States has too much power over our lives. This has to change. Similarly those who have billions of dollars must pay more taxes to help all people live good lives.

I'm thinking about this; reading about this, and adopting practices that hopefully will help to move us in a more positive direction as a people. Onward.

Moving beyond the sadness and worry

If you read my blog, you know I've been very sad and worried about a loved one lately. His care needs are extensive and the needed ener...
