I'm in the midst of a number of perennial pursuits. These pursuits include the beautiful/nutritious garden, the house of few items, the loving/nurturing parent/grandparent, and the warm, welcoming home.
Today, I'm focused on the warm, welcoming home. What does that consist of? Since I'd rather spend the extra dollars I have on a few good trips, I'm happy to keep the decor and look of my home as it is. It's a bit old fashioned with regard to today's styles, but it remains warm and welcoming. So with no big changes ahead, what does it mean to create a warm, welcoming home?
Clean
The first priority is to have a clean home. We all know that keeping a home clean is a daily task, so today I'll put on some good music and do a number of clean-up tasks.
Orderly
I'll also spend some time organizing the many items that are strewn throughout the house. This is where that age-old adage comes in handy, "Everything in its place and a place for everything."
Bright
I can brighten up my home with a few fresh cut flowers.
Nice smells
It's always nice to have freshly backed items in your home when people visit as that fills the house with wonderful smells. It's also important to open up those windows now and then to freshen up a home's smells.
Purge
Getting rid of all those unnecessary items is important - once again, less things, more time.
