2026 Plans, Hopes, and Questions

I looked back at my post for 2025 plans, and for the most part, the plans went as expected with the added wonderful surprise of the the arrival of our first grandchild--what a happy surprise.

In 2025, our immediate family had a wonderful year with a beautiful wedding, the arrival of an awesome grandchild, new homes for two sons, and many friend/family events and adventures throughout the year. The extended family faced some challenges as we figured out how to care for our aging dad in ways that worked for all five living siblings (one brother passed a few years ago). Highlights of the past year included these:

  • successful tutoring with a young man
  • thoughtful work at a summer camp teaching math in a beautiful setting
  • wonderful adventures in St. John and Vermont
  • a beautiful seaside wedding for my son and his wife
  • completing of many house projects including a new roof and new siding
  • an overall happy home life
  • positive weekends caring for my dad
  • good times with friends and family members for meals, bike rides, and hikes
  • lots and lots of cooking
  • our beautiful grandson's arrival
  • helping our children with their new homes
In all, my favorite times in 2024 were times I spent with those I love most in the warmth of our homes or during happy celebrations and adventures.

What are my hopes for 2026.

Personally, my hope is to work hard, keep to a healthy positive weekly schedule including dad/baby care/healthy eating/positive activity, be generous/loving/helpful, less words/more actions, meaningful contributions to family/friends/community, and enjoyment of a few good adventures throughout the year.

Here are the plans:
