Oversharing

 A friend cautioned me about oversharing, but as a person who loves transparency, I didn't take her words to heart until now. Now I realize that when we share too much, we open ourselves up for challenging critique and reactions. I never worried too much about that, but recently I've noticed the emotional toll that takes on me so I want to share less. I also want to observe, listen, and respond better. 

So in the new year, that will be one of my goals. Another goal will be to weather life's challenges with greater grace and quiet. It's true that people prefer the good news of life to the bad news, and as the words from a popular song tell, "What doesn't kill us makes us stronger." 

In general, and I believe, like most people, I simply want to live as well as I can for myself and others--a simple, good, and positive life works for me. Onward.
