What messages is the universe sending you

A few months ago, a friend said the difficult part out loud. Her words dug like a knife. I knew there was truth in her words, but did she have to say that truth with such hatred. I had shared some deep, personal information with this friend, and in a moment of fury, she spit back my words with hateful, hurtful rationale for the truths I had shared.

This wasn't the first time, I heard those truths. I heard those truths many times before in many different ways. I'm heeding those messages seriously, and making a few changes to improve the situation. Why did that repetitive, less than positive behavior repeat? For the most part, I think that action continued as an effort to rise about the tide of life during busy, challenging times. That doesn't excuse the errors, but does provide the rationale for why those moments happened.

The universe does send us messages. And those messages tend to repeat in all kinds of ways until we understand what's being said and directed. I've noticed a friend who has been challenged for years with a universal message that repeatedly ricochets her into a corner. What's the message saying. I think her message is saying, live your own life in ways that affirm your interests, needs, heart, and desires. The message may be saying, rather than compare your life with others, be appreciative and attentive to the wonderful life you have. For too long this friend may have heard messages that did not affirm her true self thus creating this situation, but now it's time to recognize her individuality, strengths, and gifts in ways that serve herself and the many she loves and cares for.

When we are rushing, we may have trouble hearing the messages the universe is sending us. But when we take the time to listen and reflect to the world around us, we gain good direction, respect, and a fuller life. Onward.
