As a child, I always looked forward to the Easter celebrations. I enjoyed the church services and family festivities. Today we continue the celebrations with family gatherings including an egg hunt, nice brunch, and a welcoming home. With that in mind, there's work to do including the following:
Prepping the yard
The yard is just waking up from a cold, snowy winter. Now it's time to make the gardens presentable. Hopefully some of the rising daffodils will bloom by Easter, but I'm not sure about that. I also need to organize the many plant materials that are located all over the yard as well as the deck furniture. I also need need to plant the early spring seedlings that are ready to be planted. Other seedlings need to be transplanted to larger containers.
Prepping the house
There's the usual house clean-up that needs to happen.
Prepping the food
As usual, many people will be bringing food to the celebration. Foods will include the following:
- ham
- Mac and cheese
- salad
- quiches
- fruit salad
- Easter cakes and ice cream
- chocolates
- crudite platter
