Right now there are many events in my midst that I don't like and I don't support. I don't support lying, greedy, cheating leadership. I don't support hateful, unjustified, deadly war. I don't support the manipulation of the media to feed the egos of hateful supremacists. I don't support the grave income gap that provides a small percentage of people with more money than they could ever need and a large percentage of people with not enough money to live a just, fair, healthy, good life. I don't support leadership that demonstrates no humanity as well. There's a lot on the national and international levels with regard to actions and leadership that I don't want and I don't support.
In my personal life, there are actions I don't support as well. The greatest of these is dishonesty--I like people to be honest and forthcoming even if I don't agree with them. I know I don't have all the answers in life, and I believe that when we come to the table of life with honesty, we help each other to live better lives. I also don't support waiting for an emergency to strike rather than doing all you can to prevent emergencies and promote the best possible living for all people. There is so much that we can do to promote betterment and prevent hardship, but when we don't commit to that in our own lives, we cause greater strife than positivity.
So with all this dissatisfaction with the world at home and abroad, what can I do? I can commit to doing the good possible for the people I love and the communities I am apart of. Simply that good includes caring for my loved ones with good food, a warm welcoming home, and supportive companionship I can do what I can to promote positivity in the greater community as well in a number of ways. I can also be honest, compassionate, and caring in my interactions with others.
In the midst of the frightening hardships occurring on the planet right now, there is a fear that we will face tremendous hardship and loss which leads me to contemplate the question, If this was your last day on Earth, what would you do? For me, I will express my love for those I care most for with actions and words of support. I will also do what I can to promote the best possible living for myself and others in hopes that we all have a long life ahead. Onward.
