Spring cleaning: cleaning the mind

 Spring cleaning is a good time to clean your home, and it's also a good time to clean your mind. What does mind-cleaning include?

First, think about what's on your mind--what thoughts appear in your mind all the time. Which of those thoughts bring you strength and happiness, and which of those thoughts make you stressed and less healthy? 

What does a spring mind-cleaning include?

I decided to start with the positive thoughts--the thoughts that inspire me, make me strong, and bring me happiness. When I think of those thoughts, it's more of the same family/friend thoughts and actions. I also enjoy what the arts bring to mind--the arts broaden my mind in positive ways. Similarly activity in nature nurtures my mind in positive ways. 

What thoughts take up too much space and don't do me any good. Those thoughts are usually obsessive thinking about past events that were not positive for all kinds of reasons. I really want to coach myself to learn from. past errors, missteps, and circumstances, and then move on. It does no good to continually revisit past problems--instead it's good to learn and move on. No one's life is perfect and everyone has to navigate some tough events and life chapters. 

Specifically positivity matches events which include reciprocal, positive, honest relationships; healthy, natural adventures; life enriching creativity; kind generosity; and positive routines. The negativity includes one-way relationships that are dishonest and not reciprocal, negative talk and judgement, unhealthy actions and events, and holding on to old events that are not positive.
