Sometimes quantity is more important than quality, and sometimes quality is more important than quantity. How do you distinguish between the two?
Quantity
Significant time devoted to any endeavor typically results in better quality. For example, you won't become a good runner, baker, artist, gardener, or expert at almost any endeavor without putting the time in. Quantity matters when it comes to becoming an expert.
Quality
Quality, on the other hand, in some spheres may be diluted by quantity. For example, if you see a friend too often, you may have nothing left to talk about or enjoy together. But, if you see that same friend once a month or so, your visits may be richer since you have more to share with one another. Also, if you engage in a task too much, the quality may suffer. On the other hand, if you take a break now and then, you may gain better energy and perspective with respect to that task and the quality may improve.
Whenever considering efforts, it's good to consider the quantity/quality equation as attention to that detail may result in a more satisfying experience. Onward.
