Positive power is possible when you reframe a situation. I've always known that, but I've rarely had to deliberately reframe. Instead it's usually a gradual, natural process, but today, I'm going to deliberately reframe a situation.
Essentially it's a situation I've always thought I was in charge of when in truth I've had little power or authority in the situation. I tried to exert my authority time and again with little resolve. Why was I so persistent? I was persistent because throughout time I did have a lot of authority in the situation, and I did contribute countless hours and efforts which resulted in value.
Yet as time went on it was clear that there were great philosophical differences at play between me and those with greater power in the situation. While I truly believe in my perspective and believe that my beliefs hold value, at this point in the road, I also believe that the philosophy and beliefs of others are not overly dangerous and do hold some merit. With this in mind, I'm taking a giant back step in the situation with the realization that what's at play will result in positivity related to responsibility, growth, connection, realization, and perhaps renewal for many, and that's not bad.
For me, I did my part and I did it well. I had a lot more time and opportunity than I thought possible in the situation already and that has translated into great growth and insight for me--it was a positive opportunity in so many ways and now as others take over, perhaps they will gain the same positive results as I did. I'm accepting the possibility that there's meaning in this turn in the road, and the meaning may be positive for many. As for me, there is opportunity ahead for me in other arenas and I can't miss out on that.
So in summary, the reframing has me moving on in a different direction. I did this years ago with regard to a somewhat similar situation, and a lot of positivity occurred. Onward.
