In life there are unexpected twists and turns. Some are abrupt and painful and others are small and hardly noticeable. As we face these twists and turns, we decide how we are going to deal with them. I have to say that the most abrupt twists and turns on my road in life have arrived in surprising ways--I didn't expect those turn of events. In part, I was too trusting and naive to expect such painful twists and turns, and then when those events occurred, it caused a lot of pain. I wondered why people couldn't talk it out, compromise, and make the time to understand one another, but in each of these cases there was a great deal of dishonesty, disrespect, and cruelty too. I'm reasonable, and while I have strong convictions, I am able to discuss situations with people in order to come to some kind of understanding. Yet, some are quick to judge rather than work together, and that likely occurs for all kinds of reasons.
So when these unexpected twists and turns occur, we have to make the best of what's to come. We have to revise our expectations, and do the best we can. Onward.
