For the first time in a long time, I achieved a short term goal that I set. Now on the other side of that goal, I am so happy that I was able to sustain focus and commitment to that small, positive goal. What helped me achieve the goal?
First, I didn't let others deflate my energy or focus with respect to the goal. I gave myself the time and support I needed to achieve the goal.
Next, I figured out some main steps to help me achieve the goal. The steps were not too difficult and within my reach financially and with regard to timing and energy.
Now I'm ready to set another short-term goal. I'm going to apply what I l learned from the last goal including the following:
- Clearly identify the realistic goal. (realistic is a key ingredient--too often in the past, my goals have not been realistic).
- Identify the steps that will help me to successfully achieve the goal.
- Don't have a lot to say about the goal to most people. Perhaps include a few close companions about the goal and enlist their help. Telling too many people invites too much advice and some conflicting attitudes and actions as well.
- Create a good routine to help achieve the goal.
