Back on track

The unnecessary and evil murder of Renee Good, a mother, daughter, neighbor, really shook me. I watched the video, and imagined myself in that position. What is a person to do as they get volatile, conflicting commands by angry, masked men with guns? There was no need for shooting or yelling expletives and trying to force her to leave her truck--no need at all, and now a good life is lost, and what a life that had the potential to be good, that of the officer who shot and killed her, is likely lost too. When leaders use others to do their dirty work, people that work for and people who work against the leader loses. Leaders like that only care about themselves and no one else. Leaders like that lie, manipulate, cheat, and break laws all the time to get what they want. They don't care about the people or the planet. Recognizing that powerful people like this exist is a devastating and potentially crippling realization. Yet, that's what they want us to feel--they want us to give up hope, stop speaking out, and simply give in to their dehumanizing, violent, hateful plan.

I won't do that, and I will continue to seek peaceful ways to speak out and work for betterment in life--betterment for myself and others. As I say over and over again, I believe the equation exists for good living for all on Earth. That doesn't mean unfortunate events won't happen, but that does mean that people will have a good chance to live well.

So today, I'll get back on track with the day's chores to organize my home, cook for my family, pay some bills, and then relax and enjoy a book conversation with a friend. Later this weekend I'll do what I can to contribute to the many positive movements that want to counter the Trump teams inhumane, greedy, lawless, hateful policies and actions as I know we can do better. Onward.

Moving beyond the sadness and worry

If you read my blog, you know I've been very sad and worried about a loved one lately. His care needs are extensive and the needed ener...
