When the world feels adrift

There are times when you wake up and feel like the world is adrift. That's when it's important to think about the way you live and the many elements that make up your life. Why is the world adrift? What can you do?

One reason the world is adrift is that our very powerful and wealthy President of the United States is abusing his powers in ways that truly harm and hurt people. He and his staff are targeting people because of their skin shade and geographical roots. His inflammatory hate speech is inciting violence against people because of the way they look and where they are from with no regard for their character, work, sacrifices, challenges, and more. It's an ignorant, hateful, hurtful, cold, deadly way to view people.

This very, very wealthy man is working against the common good in countless ways including the following:

  • Putting ignorant, self-serving, hateful people in charge of government departments that manage safety, health, education, and every other aspect of good living. These leaders such as Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. don't care about the common good, but instead choose for their personal benefit and ego. It's a crime.
  • Slandering good people with lies, exaggeration, gaslighting and more.
  • Using his power to abuse laws and the courts to increase his personal wealth and power.
  • Joining ranks with dictators with human rights violations around the world to promote his personal wealth and power.
  • Supporting building hotels in Gaza rather than working for human rights and good living for the people of Gaza.
  • Attacking other countries and depositing the money he gains into foreign banks under his name.
  • Likely corrupting public files and records as well as eliminating public files and information to change the true facts of history.
  • Seemingly taking bribes, accepting money illegally, and utilizing hard earned tax dollars and other public funds to increase his personal wealth, power, privilege, and pleasure.
  • Creating a violent army of masked-criminals to do his lawless bidding throughout the country.
  • Supporting war crimes and leaders with violations against humanity across the globe.
  • Utilizing the military to do his lawless bidding too.
President Trump, on his own and with his cronies, has much greater wealth, power, and privilege than most of us. Our only power is working with each other within the rule of law to highlight this inhumane, violent, racist, hateful actions to hold those who abuse the law accountable. I am seeking ways that I can do this, and honestly have yet to find the perfect advocacy match for who I am and what I can do. I need to work harder at this, and will do that in the days to come.

Why else is the world adrift? Without a national humane leader who works for the people, an aimless sense of divide and confusion occurs. Some people are frightened; some people are angry; some people are ignoring what's going on; and some people are trying to earn favor with the wayward people in charge. Trump and his cronies desire this divide because they know their power will be greater if the people are frightened, angry, and divided. We have to be aware of this, and as much as possible work with others who desire a forward-moving, peaceful, lawful, good country and planet for all. We can't let fear, division, hate, or anger get in the way of the amazing positive power we have when we work together.

We also have to do the right thing. We are weak when we don't do the right thing. As much as possible we have to work for the common good in our every day efforts, and we have to encourage others to do the same.

I will think more about this in the days ahead, and think about what I can do to contribute to the common good rather than work against that like the President and his minions are doing day in and day out.

Moving beyond the sadness and worry

If you read my blog, you know I've been very sad and worried about a loved one lately. His care needs are extensive and the needed ener...
