I have a bad case of inertia. My inertia is caused by the fact that what I need to do is not what I want to do, but I know that what I need to do is necessary.
So how do I convince myself to get those necessary, but unattractive tasks done?
These are many approaches when it comes to fighting back against this kind of inertia:
- don't think, just do it
- do it to music
- simplify so those necessary tasks are as easy as possible
- make sure you have the tools, ingredients, and supplies on hand to make the tasks doable
- make these tasks a regular part of your daily or weekly routine so they don't pile up
- complete the tasks during your most energized time of the day
Today, I'll apply some of these strategies and get those unattractive tasks done. Onward.
