I tried a large number of strategies to snap out of a slump I was in yesterday, then finally, dinner with my very best friend made the difference. I needed a relaxed change of scenery with a very comfortable individual. That reset my scope and energy after several days of challenging events.
We have to fight against the slumps that inevitably happen in life. I can point to many life changing and life challenging events that have happened in the last year to so many friends and family members--life changing and challenging events that they likely did not anticipate. That happens in life, but we can't let the bad news take us down. Instead we have to keep love and positivity center stage.
What ca we do to lift ourselves up the life wats to take you down?
As I did last night, we can spend time with the people we love most -- relaxed, positive time.
We can also do something for someone else--my mom always taught me that when you feel down, the best thing you can do is to help someone else.
We can check in on our health? Are we eating well, engaging in positive activity, and getting enough rest?
Turning to the arts for comfort is another avenue of finding peace--music, art, and theater can take us to better places in life.
We can eliminate the experiences and events that take us down too--too much bad news or negative engagements do us no good.
We have to make a conscientious attempt to snap out of it when we face life's challenges.
