Every year family adventures are a bit different based on family members' ages, life events, and desires. As we embark on a number of family adventures this summer, I am thinking about what's important.
Healthy, fresh, delicious foods
Family members appreciate healthy, good foods and to have those foods available sets the stage for successful events. This also demands time for prep prior to the events.
Enjoyable, energizing activities
Planning and executing positive activities is a great way to bring people together. The challenge here is the range of athletic ability and interest in the family group. So that's why it's good to plan a range of activities so that everyone has a chance to be involved in some way.
Comfortable lodging
When the lodging is comfortable, people are happier.
Loose-tight schedules for activities and togetherness
Too tight schedules are frustrating, but a loose-tight schedule that includes down time is much more successful.
